Applications

The Deltaliner equipment allows on-the-fly, non-contact length measurement for of hot products such as: bloom, billet, bars, sections, rails, tubes.

Typical application :

• Length measurement at continuous caster;
• Length control at hot rolling mill after flying shear;
• Length measurement at tube mill.

This equipment allows measurement of products from a few meters to more than 100 m in length.

General description

The Deltaliner consists of :

• Scanning Hot Metal Detectors Rota-Sonde DC6110 fitted with laser for easy alignment, installed along the conveyor;
• The processing unit MXP2220.

The sensors are installed in two sets: one for tracking the head of the product, the second for tracking the tail. The detection time of each sensor is transferred through a serial line to the processing unit MXP2220. After evaluation of the speed and acceleration, the processing unit makes the calculation of the length of the product.

The number and the position of the sensors depend on the maximum / minimum length to measure, the speed of the product and of the required accuracy. Contact DELTA for an evaluation of your application.
